Le Cupole

Ristorante-Pizzeria Italiana a Prati
Via Lucrezio Caro, 21 Roma

Eva Gallostra I will write in Egnlish since I cannot write Italian but I am from Barcelona. We had dnner one night at Le Cupole. The waiter sat us in a lonely dining room close to the entrance so we felt a bit like pariahs and I was cold. He seemed very friendly at fisrt but when he served seconds the attitude changed we still can't think of anything that we have done that might have justified the change. Then we asked for the bill. It was hand written which not printed but that was ok. It was 58.80€ we paid 70  euros. a 50 note + a 20 note. After half an hour we asked for our change. The waiter came back, after asking us how much was the bill and how much had we paid (incredible!) with 1 euro 20 cents. We calmly explained taht tehre was a 10 euro note missing and he asked again how much was the bill and what had we paid. At first we felt sorry for him, he was quite old and we thought he mght not have noticed but then another table (British girls with which we simpathised) started arguing and shouting and we got the impression that in this retstaurant they try to trick tourists so I would NOY RECCOMMEND! I'm catalan not stupid. We didn't want to leave tip but we are spanish, we tip even a cup of coffee so we left 6 euros. After thinking about it, we regreted it. We shouldn't have left anything since they didn't even say good bye or appologise for the "misunderstanding". I will get a friend to leave this post in Italian, so you can see what some of your people can do for an extra 10 euros. (we were going to tip in any case there was no need to try steal from us!)

Massimo I'm very sorry for the bad impression that these people may have made you.
Unfortunately, many restaurateurs are like that.
Fortunately, not all Italians are like that.
I was in Barcelona many years ago and was already a beautiful city, but Rome is a beautiful city too, ruined by the Romans and sometimes not.
I hope you were still good and you come back to us soon.
      Bye.
